Nail “three” in isolation and a flashcard app calls it mastered. It isn’t. Real pronunciation only shows up under the load of a full sentence.

Many “grammar” mistakes are really pronunciation
“Two cat”, “he run”, “yesterday I walk”: usually not a grammar gap but a dropped ending. Vietnamese rarely ends a word with a strong consonant sound, so these endings are hard to say and slip away. They also carry number and tense, which Vietnamese marks with separate words, so they are easy to forget too.

The two “th” sounds, for instance, have no Vietnamese equivalent, so they slip toward a nearby sound like “t” or “d”. These are the specific habits Vietnamese speakers carry into English, and generic apps gloss right over them.
